The online magazine Retail TouchPoints as published an article by co-founder Felix Limper with the title “The Future of Retail is 3D”. In his article, Felix elaborates why 3D is attractive for retailers and how it can boost the performance of online shops.
Ecommerce is experiencing strong growth, so Felix anticipates: “In the coming years, this booming online retail industry is set to be revolutionised by high-performance technology that’s more commonly associated with video games than digital shopping: implementing high render 3D graphics is one of the driving forces.”
Next to several industry contacts, Felix points to the 3D Commerce Working Group, which has been created in 2019 within the Khronos Group. The working group consists of more than 70 industry leading companies, including retailers, technology vendors and manufacturers. DGG is an active part of this effort too, with its CEO Max being co-chair of the Asset Creation TSG.
