3D material conversion to universal PBR

With RapidPBR, you can automatically convert massive amounts of 3D models and scenes to PBR in a fraction of the time required by 3D artists using manual workflows and tools.

Convert Automatically

Converting 3ds Max files with V-Ray materials to universal PBR was never easier. RapidPBR automatically analyzes the 3ds Max scene, verifies, cleans and converts the scene including its materials and textures within minutes. 

Even priopriate elements like modifiers or procedural materials are converted where possible to ensure compatibility with other 3D applications and systems. 

All you need to do is to put your 3ds Max scene with related assets (textures, vrmeshes etc.) into a .ZIP archive and upload this to RapidPBR with the simple to use web interface. Once uploaded, RapidPBR automatically processes the files and creates a PBR compatible 3D model for inspection and download. 

Preview in Realtime 3D

The integrated 3D viewer shows the converted 3D model directly in the browser, so it can be reviewed and inspected interactively. Even larger 3D models up to a few hundred MB can be loaded and viewed in realtime, without the need to optimize and reduce the models first.

If your 3D models are intended for use with 3D applications that don´t support the 3D formats exported by RapidPBR directly, you can use RapidCompact to convert the model into another compatible format like USD, FBX, OBJ. And if you want to use your model in realtime applications on the web or on mobile devices, RapidCompact can be used to optimize for fast loading and display performance.

Preview Textures

The built-in image viewer displays all textures conveniently in the interface. The lightbox gallery can enlarge the images for further inspection and overview if the 3D model contains many textures. 

Since textures are either transferred in their original format or baked if necessary, the texture and image preview allows a closer inspection directly after import.

Automatic Quality Control

RapidPBR has quality control built-in. After successful conversion, a comparison tool analyzes the original 3D model with the converted 3D model and shows the result as a set of difference images.

Every red pixel shows the difference between converted and original while every white pixel is exactly the same between both.

With these ´difference images´ it´s easier to see which parts or materials of a 3D model don´t look exactly like the original.

3D Format Support

RapidPBR will support a variety of 3D formats and renderers. The first version will support 3ds Max scenes with V-Ray materials with support for Corona, MaterialX and Blender following later.

The imported and converted 3D model will be downloadable as .GLB file by default but can be further converted in various 3D formats (USD, FBX, USDZ, OBJ and more) using RapidCompact.

Optimize and convert with RapidCompact

If your 3D models are intended for use with 3D applications that don´t support .GLB, you can use RapidCompact to further convert and optimize the model.

No matter if you want to use your 3D models in Unreal Engine, Unity, Blender, Substance or even web based applications, RapidCompact covers your needs.

The built-in 3D viewer even allows viewing of your 3D models in Augmented Reality on mobile devices as well as in Virtual Reality using VR headsets that support WebXR.
